Environmental Investigation

Whether it is a simple site assessment or a complex RCRA facility investigation, most environmental projects begin with questions such as:

  • is the site contaminated?
  • what contaminants are involved?
  • and how far does the contamination extend?

The answers to these questions will guide cleanup decision and can be answered in a variety of ways such as:

  • interviewing historical owners of the property,
  • reviewing regulatory records,
  • reviewing aerial photographs,
  • site visits, and
  • collecting samples and other site-specific data.

A well planned investigation saves money by reducing regulatory review, and efficiently collecting samples to maximize the information obtained by each one.  SES provides, water, soil, and air sampling services to help define problem areas and determine the type and severity of contamination.

Our personnel collected over 600 soil samples at this 72-acre site in Kentucky.

After these abandoned drums were found, SES personnel were contracted to investigate, sample, and characterize the contents before disposal.
