Remediation and Restoration

Although there are many technologies available to treat contaminants, every site is different, and a technology that works well in sandy soil may be ineffective when the same contaminant is present in subsurface clay.  The best way to ensure success is by using an experienced contractor with field experience using a variety of cleanup strategies.

SES can help you determine the best way to clean up your site, or implement a pre-selected remedy.  We can also perform interim remedial actions and stop the problem from getting worse before the investigative work is complete.  This type of prevention can dramatically reduce the final remediation cost. When more complicated remediation is needed, we have experience preparing feasibility studies, corrective measures studies, and pilot and bench scale studies.  These studies are used to evaluate and test which remediation will work best within individual site conditions.

SES has experience with remedial tasks such as:

  • asbestos abatement,
  • equipment and building decontamination,
  • beryllium dust removal,
  • waste management,
  • soil removal,
  • air sparging systems,
  • groundwater pump and treat systems,
  • multi-phase vacuum extraction, and
  • enhanced bioremediation using oxygen and hydrogen release compounds.

SES personnel successfully removed belowground oil / water separators without damage to adjacent buildings.

Air sparging can be an effective way to remediate subsurface contamination.  SES has installed multiple sparging systems in the southeastern US.
