Basil Skelton named President and CEO of SpecPro Environmental Services LLC

Oak Ridge, TN, February 23, 2010 – The Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) Board of Directors has named Basil Skelton to be President and Chief Executive Officer of wholly owned subsidiary, SpecPro Environmental Services LLC (SES).  The company is headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and has six other offices in Florida, Georgia, Texas and Virginia.  SES provides construction and environmental remediation services to a range of clients including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE), the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).  In 2006, SES acquired Oak Ridge-based STEP Inc. from owners Basil Skelton, Ken Shepard, and Jeff Wood.  Mr. Skelton remained with the company as Chief Operating Officer and since that time has overseen an approximate five-fold growth of the company to over $70M in annual revenue. As SES’s President, Mr. Skelton also has responsibility for the entire SES Group of companies which includes SES, SES Construction and Fuel Services LLC (SCF), and SpecPro Construction and Remediation LLC (SCR).

 

SpecPro Environmental Services LLC acquires Solutions to Environmental Problems, Inc.
Combination Will Create New Opportunities for Growth


OAK RIDGE, TN, October 26, 2006 – SpecPro Environmental Services LLC, (SES) a Huntsville Alabama firm, announced today that it has agreed to acquire Solutions to Environmental Problems, Inc. (STEP), an environmental services and construction firm headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  Following the acquisition, STEP will be merged into SES, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC).  BBNC is an Alaskan Native Corporation owned by over 7,300 shareholders who are Eskimo, Aleut, and Indian.  

STEP has been one the region’s most successful small business government contractors and holds multiple contracts with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Air Force Center of Environmental Excellence, the US Navy Facilities Engineering Command, and the National Nuclear Security Administration.  The merger with SES will allow STEP to continue to support its traditional clients while expanding into new business areas. “STEP has an outstanding track record of performance, due mainly to the quality of the management team and technical staff.  We are thrilled to have these individuals join SES, and we foresee a bright future for our combined companies.” said Larry Blackwell, SES President.

STEP will maintain its current operations in Oak Ridge along with satellite offices in Crawfordville, FL; Chuluota, FL; and Warner-Robins, GA.  In addition to the corporate headquarters in Huntsville, AL, SES has offices in Lorton, VA; Cocoa, FL; Patrick AFB, FL; and Columbus AFB, MS.
